Making Preparations at the Database Level

Context

Several preparatory steps are required at database level.

Procedure

Update the optimizer statistics to improve the response times of the database during the update.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Log on to the SAP system.

  2. In role SAP_BC_DB_ADMIN_SAPDB, choose Start of the navigation pathDatabase: Operation Next navigation step DBA Planning CalendarEnd of the navigation path (transaction DB13).

  3. Double-click a day in the DBA Planning Calendar. The menu for scheduling database actions appears.

  4. Select Create new optimizer/space statistics.

Schedule this action as close to the update as possible.
