Database Migration Option: Target Database SAP HANA

System Move: Preparing Target System Landscape

This preparatory step is relevant, if you want to perform a system move during the SUM with DMO run.

Context

In addition to the required preparation steps in the source system landscape (such as providing the stack.xml file and the SAP HANA database client archive, or updating SAP Host Agent), you prepare the target system landscape to perform a move to a new primary application server (PAS).

For more information about the system move, see System Move: Enabling DMO with System Move.

Procedure

  1. Prepare the target database.
  2. Provide the PAS host in the target system landscape with the same system ID as the PAS host in the source system landscape:
    1. Install the ASCS as SAP target system.
    2. Install the database instance.
    3. Install the PAS as SAP target system.
    4. Stop the SAP system.
  3. Provide the SAP HANA database client archive.
  4. Update the SAP Host Agent.
