Preparing Target Database SAP ASE

Prepare the target database SAP ASE for the SUM with DMO run.

Context

Make sure that you have successfully installed an SAP ASE database. To install the database, use the Software Provisioning Manager tool for SAP NetWeaver 7.1 and higher.

Make also sure that the database parameters are maintained according to the guide SAP Applications on SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise - Best Practices for Migration and Runtime that is available on the SAP Help Portal at https://help.sap.com/viewer/ase_best_practices.

To prepare the target database, proceed as follows:

Procedure

  1. Follow the instructions in section 7 Database Migration Option Preparation of the System Copy Guide that is relevant for the system copy option of Software Provisioning Manager 1.0.
    Select a guide for

    • target databases other than SAP HANA

    • ABAP stack

    • SAP NetWeaver 7.X-based product release

    • your operating system
