You have to meet certain software requirements before you update the SAP system.

1. Check the source release of the SAP system.
2. Check the uninstallation of software components.
3. Meet the operating system-specific requirements.
4. If necessary, upgrade the operating system and database system.
5. Make sure that the relevant Software Components for an update of the SAP HANA database are installed and that they have a sufficent version.
6. Save the environment files.
