System Move: Providing Download Directory for the Target System

For a system move, provide SUM with the complete download directory for the target system.

Context

During the DMO procedure including system move, you are prompted to specify the download directory on the host for the target system. It must contain all files and software packages from the download directory of the source system. This means that you must have copied the whole content from the download directory on the source system to that on target system before you start the DMO procedure. Proceed as follows:

Procedure

  1. Create a download directory on the host for the target system.

    Example for a Unix system: /usr/sap/<SID>/download

  2. Copy the download directory content from the host for the source system into this directory.
  3. After you have started the Software Update Manager with the scenario DMO with System Move, provide on request the path to the new download directory.
