Table Partitioning

As a system conversion generally starts in an SAP ECC system on at least SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.0 or a higher version, automatic partitioning of large tables is provided for the downtime-optimized conversion run.

In addition to the table partitioning during the DMO, as descibed in section Table Partitioning as of Start Release 7.00 of the DMO guide for SAP HANA, for the downtime-optimized conversion you have to consider the following additional aspect:

  • As table content is already migrated during uptime, you can set a breakpoint between phases EU_CLONE_MIG_OPTDMO_CREATE and EU_CLONE_MIG_OPTDMO_INI_RUN in order to change the partitioning for the application tables directly on the SAP HANA database.
