Downtime-Optimized Conversion

Configuration

In the Configuration roadmap step, the Software Update Manager asks for all information required to run the update with the downtime-optimized conversion.

The following actions are specific to the update with the downtime-optimized conversion:

  • Inclusion of Customizing Requests

    To include your Customizing requests in the downtime-optimized conversion procedure, the Software Update Manager asks you for the path and name of your customer buffer file. The definition of clients for which table logging is turned on is retrieved from the parameter RECCLIENT of the transport profile file, or from system profile parameter rec/client. Depending on your requirements, you enter one of the following values for parameter recclient:

    Value of Command Option

    Meaning

    RECCLIENT=off

    No logging. It is the default setting.

    RECCLIENT=all

    Logging always occurs for all clients for client-specific tables.

    RECCLIENT=<Client1>, <Client2>

    For client-specific tables, logging occurs in the clients listed here.
